Creative Color Challenge:Sunflower Yellow and the Making of a Collage

This is my submission for this weeks Creative Color Challenge over on Louise's blog. The color was sunflower yellow. This isn't a color that I generally gravitate to in my art but it is a color I love. So I kept thinking of fresh, clean and bright. I painted paper, used color pencils, cut and stitched my pieces together with the machine.

I really began to enjoy working with this color.  So thanks Louise for challenging me with this one. I can't wait to see next weeks color.

This challenge fit in well with a challenge I have going on for myself to create a piece of art a day. I will be back to talk about that later but in the meantime please stop over at Kim Klassen's Inspiration Stay-cation where you will find a post from me on my making of a collage. There is tons of great stuff over there. She is doing a great job!

Please come back tomorrow for this weeks Art Biz Mama interview.

I love the texture of this piece - I was immediately drawn to it in the "group pool" over on flickr!

I think it's so great to see the diverse artwork everyone is making with this challenge... so fun!

I can't wait to see what you create for our next color :)

p.s. the week in pictures is fabulous!

What an amazing piece of work! I love how each piece comes together so loosely and at the same time so warmly. I love what you have created, and conveyed through the vibrancy of this piece work! Have a wonderful creative colorful challenge. Enjoy the ride. :) Much love - Ana

My recent color loves have been purple and yellow, but I've been seeing a lot of yellow lately and loving it. This color study is gorgeous. It's amazing, the feeling you can get from a color.
