to draw a face.... I was listening to a podcast of Pam Carriker talking about how she draws a face every day! So I felt inspired. Faces have been one of those things... never was able to do it, always felt blocked. Pam says keep doing it over and over again. So I am going to keep trying. It is a good lesson. To all of you that draw faces... my hat goes off to you!

good job dana! i used to be able to draw faces in high school. i haven't really attempted since then, but i actually don't have the desire to even do it anymore. i guess it is because after my car accident i like being more messy in my creative endeavors. practice i think does help a ton though.
I've never been able to draw faces or figures either. Like Wendy I'm not that interested so I don't bother really trying. However, I think it's a great skill to have.
I'm really loving watching your creative journey at the moment and all the different places you are traveling.
Dana, I'm so glad to hear there are others who feel uneasy when it comes to drawing the human face! I'm also trying to learn some different techniques from other artists, and it's always a little scary to commit to putting one of my faces in an art piece...or even in my journal! I think noses are definitely the most difficult for me. The last one I drew, I erased the nose about 30 times before I was happy with it! Anyways, the face here is looking great...and I think next time I will try the technique you are showing here!
I think you're off to a good start! I find faces hard too and yes practice makes perfect!
