Keep making ART

my scribbled notes made while listening to a podcast.

Recently, not directly, I have been told KEEP MAKING ART. Through podcasts, the e-course, blog posts. Make LOTS of art. Lots of it will SUCK. Keep making it anyway. I guess the old saying... Practice makes perfect can apply here. Commit yourself. Earlier this year I made the decision to really commit to my art and the different twists and turns that can take. It is very easy to start something, get frustrated and give up.

Here is a video that can be applied to all creative acts. Mati and Lisa shared it with us. Maybe you will get some use out of it.What are you committing to?

i love your outlook. i am really working on finding my style even more right now and i think this is the key for sure. it is actually very interesting to see where my work was a year ago and where it is going now. i love it.

i write tons of songs- i do online challenges for motivation, like "50 songs in 90 days" and currently FAWM (february album writing month, which is 14 songs in 28 days) it's not that all of those songs are GOOD, but they're all worthwhile- the more often i write, the quicker i can access that creative space in me.

I am reading a book called Art & Fear by David Bayles & Ted Orland. There is one passage that I've highlighted & underlined and keep reminding myself of and I thought it may be helpful to you as well.

"The function of the overwhelming majority of your art work is simply to teach you how to make the small fraction of your artwork that soars."
