I realize that is all I am showing lately. This isn't a painting for Get Your Paint On (which is just about over). I am a couple of paintings behind on the course. This was just a little quick one that isn't quite done.

what it looked like a couple of days ago. as my daughter slept i ignored the mounds of laundry and when she woke I felt so much better. art really is so good for your soul.

My Creative Space

It has looked like this for a few days. This weeks assignment is COLOR. Love it but haven't painted a thing yet. Little guy has what seems to be the flu now. :( So it may be like this for a bit longer.

This was on my Yogi tea last night. Love it. Just what I needed and of course perfect as Strength is my word.

Getting really inspired by this vintage crochet throw. It is making me so happy to look at.

Making marks. Working on the floor briefly while my daughter naps. Working from this book. Using all sorts of materials to make marks.... pastels, charcoal, conte pencils, neocolors, pitt pens, graphite. The exercise is to just MAKE MARKS. Experiment with the way the materials work together. So simple right? So fun.

 Working on tiny canvases. Notice the half a tube of red paint my daughter squeezed out. :) When I asked her why she did that she said to be an artist mommy. Of course. :)

I ignored the housework and while my daughter slept I gave myself a gift. What  you may ask? Time.
Time to paint. Ahhh... it felt so good. It lasted but a mere 1 and half hours. Do you give yourself time?
Do you make your creativity a priority? I will always. I have to always. I NEED to always.

This is what it is looking like around here today. I slacked a bit on my ART EVERYDAY but since it is just for me that is o.k. I have big plans for tonight to get back.

I am having this desire to sew. Maybe since I sewed on paper?? I borrowed Denyse Schmidt Quilts from the library. I think I may be able to actually make something small like a potholder. For someone that doesn't sew that is huge. Just thinking.

With this ART EVERYDAY experience I am also feeling my love of fabric design popping up yet again. I think it may have to do with the fact that I listened to the Amy Butler , Anna Maria Horner, Denyse Schmidt  podcasts on CraftSanity yet again. What great stories they all have.

My space today. Feeling very out of sorts. So many thoughts rolling through my head.

My Creative Space

This is what is going on today in my creative space. My painting on the right of the poppies was framed by my sweet husband. I painted it a beautiful grey/blue. I love this color now. It looks wonderful with so many other colors! It is going off today to a local library show! I have shown my work there years ago and it will be fun to go back.

The painting on the left is a work in progress of ranunculus. I love this flower. I find it so interesting. So it has a bit to go but I am enjoying it so far.

We are busy getting ready for Easter at our home. Dying eggs and making sock bunnies. It is spring break and today the sun is shining. I can't wait to see the kids opening their baskets on Sunday and hunting for eggs. I am really excited!

My Creative Space

It is a mess today! Working on a new painting and going to finish the larger one. Having fun though. The crocuses and the daffodils and some small blue purple flowers have bloomed. I feel like I want to paint purples. Purple was my favorite color for a long time. And at times it still is. Mine seems to change from day to day. What is your favorite color?

My Creative Space

I am joining in the fun over on kootoyoo
with my creative space. Here is my beginnings of my acrylic painting. It feels a bit unsettling to share this and I debated over it. But here it is. It was a great way to end the day yesterday. I relaxed, played, and was free with the paint. I can't wait to go back to work on it!
