My Creative Space

I ignored the housework and while my daughter slept I gave myself a gift. What  you may ask? Time.
Time to paint. Ahhh... it felt so good. It lasted but a mere 1 and half hours. Do you give yourself time?
Do you make your creativity a priority? I will always. I have to always. I NEED to always.

I would love to see yours. Please add a link if you like.

I love what you've created Dana! So happy to hear that you're making time to paint. I haven't created much lately and I've been distracted by other things. I need to focus again! Wini

I so had a similar moment this week. The bombsite that is my house was ignored in order to do some artwork simply for my mental health, so I know where you're coming from.

Remember happy mums help make happy little peoples, so don't hesitate. ::hugs::

Somr lovely colours in that piece. Do more!

Some days I have to nap during naptime, and some days like today I paint! yay. I always try to make some time to create, or I'm a cranky Mama!

Lovely soft colors. My studio looks a lot more "chaotic" than peaceful right now... But I would share some pictures soon on my blog...

Wonderful painting-bright and fresh. I can see you had fun! I need to make more time for creativity myself. It definitely helps my mood. Little one is having a hard time napping these days so it's struggle. Here is mine, done over many days http://peachcoglo.typepad.com/peach-coglo/2010/09/one-whole-painting.html

I love your work, Dana! I truly do! I am awaiting the day you open the doors to your online store so that I can scoop up a little of the beauty that you create!

Anyway, I do make creating a priority. I have to. When I don't, I literally become unbearable! So...in this house, the laundry is often not done and house is often a mess...but you'll find a happy mommy!

Hi! I so remember giving myself that same gift during nap time! I no longer have nap times to work in but yesterday I did the very naughty mommy thing of turning on a video, because I was so excited to keep working on a painting that I had to have the kids occupied with something else!
Yes, I obviously have a bit of mama guilt going on about that, but sometimes I just have to keep working!

the gift of time is the best!good for you, for doing that. I was never so kind to myself that way, when my girls were babies and napping.
