I hope you are having a great weekend so far. We are having a nice and cold one here. We are expecting a big snowstorm here in NY so tomorrow may look like this
I LOVED this book as a child (still do). Also, Peter's Chair by the same author. The illustrations always sucked me in. The colors are great and so is the story.

Along with many others, I don't plan on being too plugged in over the next week. We are winding down to the big day. I am not the type to get too crazed at this time of the year. We don't go overboard with the gift giving and we focus on doing many fun things as a family. Which brings me to traditions. The things my husband and I did as a couple at this time of the year have certainly changed since we had children. We are still developing our traditions since our kids are still quite young but some of the things we do to celebrate are:

-Cut the Christmas tree down at the Christmas tree farm. Sip hot chocolate afterward.

-Watch holiday movies. The Polar Express (my son is loving this one this year), Rudolph and Frosty ( my daughter asks to watch these nearly every day ), Elf (lots of laughs for my husband and me) and I love It's a Wonderful Life. I have to watch that one every year.

-Drive around with the kids in their jammies to look at Christmas lights.

-Make cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.

-Have breakfast with Santa.

-Making lots of gifts to give to family and friends

What are your holiday traditions?

Oh yes, definitely Its a wonderful life! I like the pyjamas one - the christmas lights are not so pretty here - you do the Christmas lights so beautifully over there! Keep having fun!

I hope you have a wonderful, fun, white, unplugged and restorative Christmas!

We are a multi-cultural family so we have a Swedish Christmas Eve and an English Christmas Day. Some of our family traditions include making rhymes for each gift, sampling the first slice of Christmas ham on homemade bread with a Christmas beer (the latter for adults). When the weather permits, building snow lanterns and igloos. Skiing and skating. Making pomanders and Christmas sweets. And more...

Thanks for the tips on the beautiful Japanese tape and I love your image with the flower and leaf to illustrate a quote.
